We launch the project GENDER4POWER

The project aims to improve the living conditions of people affected by energy poverty in partner countries of Austria, Germany, Greece, Lithuania, Slovenia and Spain, through renewable energy solutions. The main objective of the project is to improve the living conditions, including financial stability, health, well-being, and energy efficiency of buildings (and households) affected by energy poverty through the dynamic demonstration and implementation of holistic, gender-responsive, multi-stakeholder and people-centered solutions in the fields of renewable energy and energy efficiency.

To achieve this objective and in line with GENDER4

• Analysing the challenges and potentials for energy communities and other citizen-led initiatives in tackling energy poverty.
• Working directly with people experiencing energy poverty through engaging with citizen or municipality-led initiatives in six pilot locations (demonstrators) across Europe.
• Strengthening the capacity of local actors to communicate and carry out structural and well-targeted measures to alleviate energy poverty.
• Developing timely, clear and transparent information campaigns.
• Providing engagement and financial strategies co-designed with vulnerable groups, policy insights and recommendations for both national and European contexts.
